The client, an Oil & Gas Exploration and Production company, wished to create a Business Management System (BMS) for the ongoing development and future operation of two offshore UK assets.
There was an existing BMS in use in other areas of the company but this was based on obsolete software and was barely functional. The company had been investing in the development of a system for group use but after 3.5 years of development and circa £750k of cost the system development had not been proven and was subsequently killed off.
The client engaged Agile Business Consultants to provide a consultant who took on overall project management responsibility for delivery and acted as the link between the business and the developers. During contract negotiations our consultant was able to negotiate savings in excess of £50k (roughly 28%) for completion of the work.
The timeline for the project was very ambitious - having commenced in September for the Discovery exercise the go live date was pre Christmas. There was significant challenge in meeting this timescale but the project was delivered on time and within budget.
