"A £multi-million project to install new water injection facilities to extend the life of an FPSO-operated oil field"

FPSO - Case StudyWorking for a major oil company as representative and focal point for interfaces and communication between project participants (both internal departments and external suppliers).

In addition to the role described above, ABC facilitated a paper simulation of the activities to be performed following production shutdown in order to allow the project participants to identify optimum performance of these operations and to capture actions to achieve this optimum. Three additional ABC personnel were used as faciltators during this event.

  • Planning of offshore project phases with particular emphasis on activities during shutdown and subsea construction
  • Action tracking and expediting
  • Project administration and coordination
  • Development of training and competency matrices
  • Review and recommendation of enhancements to document management system
  • Collation and coordination of project handover documentation
  • Offshore representation during subsea construction operations
  • Development of command & control and emergency response procedures for FPSO off station period
  • Meeting facilitation and project performance optimisation

ABC also ran emergency response training and a table-top exercise to prove the validity of the project's emergency response procedures. The exercise included representatives from several offshore vessels that would be operating offshore during the project. Both the training and the exercise were prepared and delivered at short notice thereby illustrating ABC's commitment to reacting quickly to client requirements.
