Circa £40M North Sea Project to extend the in-field life of a Floating Production Storage & Offloading facility operated on behalf of one of the Supermajors.
Our consultant was an integral member of the EP project team responsible for the planning, engineering and execution of a highly complex subsea and marine operation involved with the disconnection, tow and reconnection of the FPSO.
Initially utilised as the project co-ordinator during the kick-off phase he eventually became manager of the marine construction scope which was undertaken by a globally recognised marine consultancy organisation.
The operating contractor had a requirement to dry dock the vessel for a life extension and upgrade package at a northern european docking facility during summer 2009.

The offshore operation was highly weather sensitive with SAT Diving & Air Diving campaigns and a considerable anchor handling and construction vessel support fleet on site at any time. Considerable attention had to be focussed on schedule optimisation, vendor interfaces and the management of all associated risk during the offshore campaign.
Agile also provided facilitation of a number of key planning events in Aberdeen before each phase of the operation and this culminated in the facilitation of an after action review which highlighted all applicable positive and negative learnings to be incorporated in future phases/projects.
The consultant involved in this project was recruited by Agile in early 2008 direct from serving a 22 yr career in the Royal Navy Submarine Service. His methodical and logical approach to problem solving and his many years of varied experience in complex marine engineering issues suited a seamless transition into the Oil & Gas Industry.
